About Steven:

Steven Butler is the author of the bestselling The Diary Of Dennis The Menace and The Wrong Pong fiction series, which was shortlisted for the prestigious Roald Dahl Funny Prize in 2009.

Steven’s latest publication- Dog Diaries, is a spin-off from James Patterson’s bestselling Middle School series. Written by James Patterson and Steven Butler, and illustrated by Richard Watson, Dog Diaries is in diary format from the point of view of Junior, the Khatchadorian family’s rescue dog. On Dog Diaries, Patterson commented: “I’ve really enjoyed working with Steven. Junior is one of my favourite characters and I know kids are going to love the stories.” Steven says “It’s been great to add to the rich and very funny world of James Patterson’s Middle School series. Writing Junior’s story with James was ridiculously fun and we can’t wait to share his canine capers with readers.”

As well as writing the hit 2015 World Book Day title, World Menace Day, Steven also hosted dozens of top-name authors across ten key nationwide events, for World Book Day’s The Biggest Book Show on Earth (2015 & 2016) for over 30,000 children.

Steven is also a successful performer and voice artist. His recent credits include The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium and his one-man A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Shakespeare’s Globe.
